This in the quadratic equations chapter and I have found one solution, which was x=-2. The answers section says there is two solutions. I know there is a method to find the solutions but I forget now. Like, a way to find out number of solutions. This is the very first exercise of the chapter about min and max values as well as axis of symmetry.

There is something called multiplicity, that is if a root is a solution TWO times it has a multiplicity of TWO, if a solution 'appears' 3 times, i.e.
There is a 'triple root' at x= alpha, it has a multiplicity of THREE. In 2U you don't need to know what this means, but basically there are still 2 solutions, -2 and -2. They are NOT distinct, and thats fine, there are still 2 solutions.

The degree of the polynomial = number of solutions (not necessarily real however).

Thanks, I see how you did that, some of the other stuff seems sort of complicated but thanks for the simple way to do it.
