Im interested in knowing how many of you all had paid work through year 12, if so how many hours per week. Also, do you wish you regret having or not having a job whichever may be the case.

I worked 7-8 hours most weeks, extra in the holidays, i though it was good having a job to fund socialising which is important.

I've got a mate whose doing something like 20+ hours of work a week. Myself, I quit my job at the start of the year. But that was because I hated it, not really school related.

Bar work, tuesday, thursday, saturday and sunday.
Anywhere from 3 to 9 hours, and depends on whether I tell them to stuff their shifts.

Also, cleaning monday nights for 2 hours.

20 hours a week is a bit over the top during school i think, i had a mate who did something similar plus sport a few nights per week, his marks suffered, but he gave it up after a while

That's exactly what I told him. And he is trying to get a high UAI. Personally, I think he'll regret doing so much work. Because he's slipping at the moment. I guess all will be said and done when the results come in.

I didn't have one during the HSC and I regret not getting one, because I didn't really make up the time with study, and trying to find one after I turned 18 and still didn't have retail experience, just didn't work out too well for me.

I have to be busy and making money, otherwise I get grumpy and demotivated.
I study best after work

But i'm working all other weekends during the HSC.

yeah i worked two jobs; one a a petrol station the other at a bar, i worked 35-40 hours per week plus study and school, there is still plently of time to socialise.

per week i earnt around $500-650, but that is just me, i love working. it a good challenge, i dont regret it at all, and i handle my studies well too.
