i think you view artworks and get questions about the four frames

> subjective (ideas, themes of artwork)
> cultural (historical background, cultural conditions/motivations)
> post-modern (how the artwork rebels against traditionalist or modernist ideologies, how it pushes the boundaries)
> structure (techniques used in the creation of the work)

that's coming from my friend

plus he said there arer essays about history of arty stuff

Isn't meaning of the work really subjective though?

Yeah. It is quite subjective. But the marks are allocated to those responses that are backed up well.

Yeah, sounds a heap like English. Except, you can't have an extremely radical opinion in English.

I'd have to disagree, its just if you do have an extremely radical opinion it is extremely hard to justify effectively. :(

Maybe can't is the right word - difficult, is probably better.

Mm, but if you CAN find a way to justify your point, it's much more fun to argue against, or radically. At least, I find it fun.

Until you get the marks back.

Haha, yeah I find it fun too. Or sometimes, if you can think of a position that is kind of different to just for/against, that's even more fun...like a completely random take, which still (technically!) fulfills the criteria :D

the subjective frame tends to deal with imaginations and emotions of an artwork, the cultural frame deals more with the meaning of the work and its influences.

Okay... Am I the only one that finds it difficult to complete both an essay and a creative writing task under 90 minutes :/ (or maybe im just less intelligent/prepared than most here lol)

I just had my Art and Eng test today and I feel like I flunked it ~___~;;

English Advance: 2 hours
Visual Arts: 1 hour and a half

I feel I could have done better in the VA test... For section III we had to write an essay but had i known there were more questions on the back of the second paper to chose from... I feel I could have wrote a better essay compared to the piece of poop I wrote instead :E

And I feel like I died in English too because I did not prepare a story but only studied up on my prescribed texts (Robert Frost poems)...

I seriously need some help in studying... Sometimes I fail to understand the question *shoots herself*
