hi guys i have my practical exam tomorrow and was wondering how to study for it? what kind of things do they assess you on like do they assume that you have knowledge of every prac you done this yr so they might ask identify the independant variable in the (insert pracs name here) prac? anywhere i can get copies of the prelim chem tests?

yeah u should have a good overall knowledge of ALL the pracs in the year 11 course.

Know about validity, reliability, accuracy and precision, these are often asked about pracs.

They also often ask about sources of error in the pracs and how these could be reduced.

i disagree.

obviously some things that may help are,

* PRACTICE doing the experiment before the actual lab!
* learn and understand the chemistry involved, what the method will be and why you do those steps
* figure out what results you expect and what things you can write about the experiment (i'm assuming you have a written part.. as in your write up something or answer some questions about the lab).. prepare for this. (i.e. think of some safety things, discussion of results, validity, etc.. )

u want to know ur ion identification and all the acid stuff REALLY well.. coz they often have questions about that in the prac. at least thats what we had
