Yes, I'm bored and YES this does fascinate me somewhat.

How do you say your own uni's name.

Versions i've heard:

Club Mac- Only other uni people call us that, i've realised. But I've heard a few mac students say it.

Umac- (you-mack) Strange yes.. University of Macquarie :S

MQ- Thats mostly in writing, But some do say it like HQ-style.

Le Mac- Wanky french way

Macca- A more bogan way of saying it

Maqueerie- Another outsiders nickname. But once in a while when we see someone highly gay, its a bit of an in joke.

Mac- Nice and short.

MQU- :S, Why the Q!!

MU (Em you): Thats used a lot, strangely.

And finally, Macquarie, just plain Macquarie.


I use Macquarie the most, how about you?

While we're at it, any other strange names you have for other buildings?

- I call macquarie centre, mac centre-Unusually most people say "shopping centre" or they call it "macquarie centre" or "the shops".

- I just call the whole W5A lecture halls "Price" "Price t1"-very incorrect, but people get me.

-SIBT, I call it SIBT (sib-t (tiny emphasis on the t) ).

And the cement block infront of the lib, I call it Asian Mecca.

i call the sam building, the sam building. i have heard a lot of variations of that one.

Ohh sam building. I dont think ive ever called it that. I just tell people to meet me at the fountain. If we're going to eat in the sam building then I just say "fooding"
