I just checked MYMQ and the coop bookshop for the lists:

LAW509 International law

Textbook On International Law (Dixon) - $85.50
International Law: Contemporary Principles & Practice (Triggs) - $128.70

LAW316 Property and Equity I

Property law in NSW (Gray et. al.) - $103.50
3 x Course notes books - $52

LAW407 Labor law

2 x course notes - $44.

All together, it comes down to nearly $418 (after membership discount)

Anyone have those books?

Also, how do we apply for parking permit? Do we just fill out a form and pay at the cashier and wait for it in the mail? (1st time doing this)

GMN104 - $200 only so far. Then again, I already got a $40 book and an $80 dictionary...

The other units will probbaly just have photocopied materials.

CUL204: No idea yet
LAW114: $60
POL276: Just looked at it today and found it quite amusing. They advise course notes which would be around $20. But then they "recommend" that I buy 3 other textbooks at $45 each. I thought, heh, I don't fucking think so

Too much for half a year!

What is really bad is that we need to buy an Admin and Equity book next semester too. Really not liking it.

But UTS Fed Con book is like $200+

Hey melsc....

I never buy the recommended texts. If they arent good enough to be texts, I would waste anyones hard earned money on them.

On the otherhand, the Essential series does quite well as a 'recommended' text

Just a few questions regarding textbooks.
When do the first years get told what textbooks they require, and is it usually one text book for each course, is it also compulsory to buy as well? After we have finished with the textbook, is there a place that we can sell it again?
