sam 2004/5 predicted almost exactly my actual UAI: it was 0.05 off.

JUAI is a little less accurate, especially since it predicts anything around 99.8 as 100.00

It's temporarily down whilst we move it over to the new site - should be available again in a day or two at most.

SAM estimate: 97.15
Real UAI: 96.95

Pretty good--0.2 off. Only use HSC marks though--when I used my final raw marks, SAM predicted a UAI of 88!

With my HSC marks, it was spot on...SAM said 98.15 and I got 98.15.

But earlier in the year i estimated marks and it came up with 93 or something. So yeah, you really have to wait till the HSC marks come out.

SAM, with my final HSC marks, predicted me at 99.7 - which is exactly what I got :) so it was 100% accurate for me.

Another one of my friends was predicted at 99.8 - which turned out to be her UAI - whereas another friend was predicted at 99.6 by SAM but then got 98.9...so its accuracy can definitely vary...

During the school year, with very rough [and marks that turned out to be slightly lower than my final results] marks, SAM predicted me consistently at 99+, but more like 99.1-99.3, that sort of thing...

SAM was accurate based ON ACTUAL HSC MARKS, with school marks it usually isn't as each school marks differently, some mark easier, some mark harder, each school has different assessments etc.

SAM predicition (trial HSC marks) 85
SAM Predicition (actual HSC marks) 93.95
NSW UAI 05: 94.0

i thought that on avg, they reckon SAM estimates 2 points higher than what you get.

i put in my hsc marks and i think it gave me something like 94.35
i got 92.85

Nup. It underestimated my UAI. :p

SAM: 97.70. UAI: 98.20.

It doesn't take school-scaling into account. I'm thinking maybe if you go to a well-ranked school you'll get a lower estimate and if you go to a no-rank school you'll get a higher estimate. But it's probably not that simple.

for me it was spot on - 98.75 was the estimate my friend got for my marks on the night before the UAIs came out, and it was what I got

Though, I'd focus more on my studies than SAM at the mo if I were you :)

Mine was about 0.05 off, thats pretty accurate...but that is after i put my aligned marks in, anything else is just guesswork.

I put the results of my first assessment task for one subject which was weighted at 1% in SAM, and it predicted my UAI to 5 decimal places, and also the UAI of all the other people that did that assessment task, to within 6.

Seriously though, it was 0.5 off from memory; 94.4 when I got 94.9.
