my cd rom drive is not working for some reason. it wont read any music cds / programs. ive tried burning a disc and doesnt work. it says insert disc when the disc is already in there. the drive doesnt seem to be reading the disc

its a new laptop.. around 6mnths

please help!! ta!

if it's a dell/hp/apple/ibm
call their support. it's still under warranty.

if not, can u detach ur ROM drive?

If its under warrenty, don't even try and fix it yourself.

its a compaq.. yea its still under warranty. thought i could try and fix it myself. il give em a ring.
