HI :D

i need help to improve in english!

i recently did a creative writing piece which was about a man at a job interview who didnt belong and blah. i thought i was going to get at least a b range mark, but turns out i didnt :(

i also submitted this piece to 2 people who were experienced in marking english and said that my piece is on track for a high mark :/

how do i know what the markers are looking for? how do i differentiate something as good or bad cause i have no idea how the teachers mark stuff :S

and for paper 1- section 1 : is it required of you to write in a sophisticated manner?
- how can you guarantee yourself 15/15?

sorry if what i wrote is confusing :/

THANKS :D

You could also scan or type it up (please type it, handwriting can be a pain to read) and have the BoS community look at it if you're too shy to ask teachers for a indepth criticism.

Markers seriously don't want cliche or extremely obvious examples of belonging/not belonging.
You need to go beyond the obvious and find other ways of expressing belonging/not belonging.

and yes when it comes to creative writing markers love sophistication and detail! Lot's and lots of detail. Suddenly Jimmy thoughts flashed before his eyes becomes = Jimmy's imagination was set free as his world began to spin around him, time and place lost meaning in his psychedelic state. (bad example but you get the idea).
