She can't really do that since she already knows the question for the essay.

Yes, It is highly unfair that you tried your best and they lost your essay in your HSC year, That just sucks so much. An estimate would be the fairest option for everyone but yourself so I would take it to either the Head of English, Principal or Year Advisor.

I think what D94 and powlmao said is the best option for you and your situation.

Get them to write a new, similar test just for you.
I know someone in maths, the teacher lost his paper, told him he will get an estimate, got pissed, got parents involved and got teacher to write new test just for him.

Woah, no way. Yeah, that would be incredibly fair to everyone else. I'd rather have a crap mark than do anything to jeopardise anyone else's HSC.
Woah, slow down snowflake. I don't see how you'd be jeopardising anyone's HSC, lmao.
