You can do it!!
put your back into it.

Sorry, it was lame, but I couldn't resist.

My physics teacher and my english teacher are off having/about to have babies, and yes its shit, but still, there's no reason you can't do most of the stuff yourself.
My english teacher leaves next week, and they havent even replaced her so I got myself an english tutor.
its the HSC, its shit.. try!

English is different, I know. The teacher has to know the syllabus so I do understand. We'll be in the same boat, my teacher might end up giving us all the work and just having the head english teacher mark it when needed :(
Stupid HSC

Can you get a consideration from the bos ?

i got told that students at my school complained that there teacher never turned up to class so they got considerations and extra marks in the hsc (don't quote me on this)

you can get considerations if you have personal problems through out the hsc eg family member dieing..etc.. I know a friend who applied she got about 4 extra uai points.
i can't see how this is any different.

hmm... well you are pretty screwed i feel so sorry for you!
but like what subjects do you do? because with most science subjects all you need is the hsc.csu site and a good text book like jacaranda or whatever, I do bio phys n chem and i realised that i don't use ANY of the notes that i get at school (no seriously, i don't!) so yeah like.. you can do that. For maths, you can teach yourself, but its good to get a teacher to help you do them stubborn questions that won't unknot. With english i suggest you get a tutor, and with eco mod ancient legal (stuf like that) i don't do those svjects so i don't think id b able to give u some effectives advice. Well good luck! personally i don't think ur situation is hopeless at all, I mean seriously all the teacher usually would do is find info for you to copy down, you can do that yourself easy!

You think you have a school that sucks or does not
comply with what you want from it.....you have it
extremely grateful!! If thats all I had to worry about,
I'd be in college by now!

Try being at a school with students who taunt and
abuse each other mentally and phsically all the time,
with teachers and staff members who don't do much
about it.....then you have fights every other day and
shootings across the street on occasion. Very hard
to study in class and sometimes afraid to attend.

You have it made! Its a crazy world in parts of the
states, you never know what will happen.
These things happen in disorganized and unattentive
schools. Most of which, some teachers only care about the job rather than the students.

I mean it....you have it made!!

most subjects can be self-taught...
concepts can be learnt from textbooks, friends, other teachers (yes, you can ask them) tutors if it must be...
you could even spend the time you did typing that long question asking a question on this forum...

why complain so much when you could be studying..?

and i really don't understand why we are being offered anecdotes on how bad american schools are... why compare australia to america?

1. complain to the board... though chances r u werent get ani feedbk

2. lodge a group ACCESS and outline the shortage of teachers etc... i know a friend who did and got special consideration

3. u have to do a lot more by urself.... but its not that hard.. i didnt go to skool for 40+ days and still did 4u maths, 4u english biz studies + economics....

make sure u make notes acording to the syllabus.... and refer to study guides...... i dont think a tutor is needed unless ur realli stuck.. or u want that extra edge that u cant get from books..... though be careful with tutors its hard to find tutors who are responsible.... and i suggest if u dont like him/her.. just move on... dont waste ur time or money :p

i hope everythign works out....

hsc is not that big of a deal.... ur working to get into ur course.. not for the hsc... often we get streessed abt hsc...... and its realli ptless.... if u wanna get stressed... stress abt not getting into ur course and possibly not doing wot u relaly want. :p
