madharris Well-Known Member Joined Oct 23, 2011 Messages 2,160 Gender Undisclosed HSC N/A Aug 17, 2012 #2 In the topic of production of materials, the higher the element on top will oxidise e.g. with Zinc and copper, the zinc will oxidise and the copper will reduce Zn(s) + Cu2+(aq) --> Zn2+ + Cu(s) = 0.34 + 0.76 = +1.1V hope that helped
