Does that includes uninstalling google toolbar? Apparently it seems to be the cause arised from the discussion link Murf provided.

Yes the issues with external extentions in this case google tool bar are discussed in the provided links.

As for "Swithching to a relliable alternate browser"

There are some problems with this:

1: I find it a bit of a cop out instead of actually helping to fix a situation a work arround is just offered, thats not really fixing the problem now is it... isint that the purpose of these forums to get problems fixed ? Yes? no?

2: its still usefull to have IE, even if an alternate is installed, for in the event that a site refuses to work correctly or demands you use I.E.

bitchgirl: did you follow:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;318378

beacuse it definetly shouldent be comming up after the re install?

Murf

i've deleted I.E and only using firefox because of what has happened, im just curious, would it have an bad effect on my computer while surfing the web without I.E?

This is not a good message at all!

It seems strange that it is giving you an error related to C++. Have you installed any programs recently other than IE? Do you or someone else use the computer to do programming work on? It seems like a stop error or break or something like that.

What I would also do is have a look at your Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del) and have a look at what is running on your computer. Is there anything there that looks suspect? If your not sure do a copy and paste of the results and someone will be able to tell you

i have installed other programs other than i.e like limewire, firefox, spamkiller, antispyware, norton anti virus *downloaded version* etc before i had spams and spyware and i got rid of it but my internet explorer seems to be down and i only can access the net through firefox...
and with the C++ error thing, how serious is it?

OK there are a couple of things that you can do to make sure that this error doesnt come up again. This assuming that there is nothing wrong with the core C++ runtime library system files on your computer, which is always a possibility.

1. Uninstall Any IE Bars in Add/Remove Programs (IE the Google Toolbar) by going into Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel
2. Go Into Control Panel and go to Internet Options
3. Click The Advanced Tab
4. Check the box that says 'Disable Script Debugging'
5. Uncheck the box that says 'Display a Notification about every Script Error'

This should solve your problem hopefully. Tell me if it doesnt :)

Ok what should come up is a windows file protection utility, that resores any 'disturbed' windows files, including those belonging to IE.... does this utility run when you run that command ? you should see a windows file protection dialogue box come up

murf

ok if it restores any disturbed window files, if i go through the process would it wipe off my whole files in my computer?

AHAHAHA well said, i hate IE havent used it for years, i for one love my Opera Webbrowser, for its convenience, stylish look and great download manager just some of the many benefits opera offers compared to IE ... perhaps its time to change?
