Hi everyone, ahh, like usual i have left this very important assessment to the last minute..its due in two days. It's on Physical Journeys. I still have to find a written text, preferably a poem or song lyric and a visual text, preferably a cartoon, to be reviewed. Also, i have to submit a visual representation that clearly illustrates my understanding of Physical Journeys and a written explanation of the technigues and ideas i used to compose this poster. Please, any suggestions...ideas, would be GREATLY appreciated. PLEASE help me. :uhhuh: :D ;) Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou, thankyou very very much.

When you state "I have to find a written text," does it also include articles...e.g. feature articles?

Due to the reason that if you are really in a rush, you can easily analyse a feature article from smh.com.au -->Travel and relate it....You do need to relate it to your specified core text right? Or is it just a simple anaylsis of a particular text of your own choosing, and you relate it to a visual or multimedia text?

As for your second part, you can easily visualise physical journeys, through looking through poems, in particular Skrzynecki's poems, or Robert Frost's poem (the one provided in stimulis book). Its probably good to also check on google images, like "Physical painting...Journeys Painting....treks...trails, and if you do that in google images, it should provide you with sufficient ideas to your visual text.

>.< I wish I can do your assessment task, as for our assessment task, I have like 3 parts to do, an analysis, relating a text to the core text, and composing a speech in which you relate a text to the idea that its the journey which is of significance not the arrival...

XD but, its easy.. just need to spend some time on it.. ^^

Gluck, if you provide me with your exact question, I may be able to help you..

I am in the same boat here.....please help if you can ;)

Here is my Assessment, I have a "scrapbook" due in tomorrow, and the writings are due in a week..

1. Compose a story for a newspaper supplement on the Area of Study based on the focus area of physical journeys. (1000-1500words)

2. Compose a letter to the published that states a brief synopsis (outline or summary) of the story, some reference to the main themes and features and how the style (language features) relates to a perceived target audience.(300 words)

3. Prepare and deliver a 2-minute talk on a related text of your choice. Explain the ways in which the composer has used language to convey the power of the journey to challenge your thinking.

Part one, I have to have a "scrapbook" of related images and texts, if anyone could help me with resources, advice, good textxs to use, or anything, I would be extremely grateful ;) Thnx

THANKYOU so much, you were a great help, i appreciate it very much. Yes, i do have to relate it to a specified core text. We relate it to both visual and multimedia texts. Thankyou for the website.

Good luck with yours, it doesn't sound too bad. You sound like you work very hard and put a lot of work into what you do, good on you! I'm sure you will do very well.

Your welcome ^^ naw, I dont work too hard, only spend like 4-5 hours per day on actually doing work.

Also:

As for part 2, I'm not too sure, when it says to outline/summarise 'the story', which story is it pointing to in particular? --> part 1? :p or just any story of your own choosing? If so, then it mite be easy, an analysis of a story that you've read.

In part 3, I think the 2 mins its abit restricting, for you have to relate it to the power of the journey to challenge your thinking. Once again, if you want lots of things to talk about on Journeys, I believe Last Samurai or The neverendign story is probably hte best alternative. For I know a hsc student who got scored really high in their English Advanced by using Last Samurai and The Neverending story, which I'll also use, because they link together really really well together.. Then, its your choice with choosing which of Skrzynecki's poem you want to relate to.

Cheers,

Aeo

Well sammie, I got 'till next tuesday to hand this assessment in, so any help you can provide would be great :)

and aeo yes, section 2 is referring to section one..
we have to write a feature article then do a brief "synopsis" in letter form

I'm just thinking how I will structure it..
two texts for part 1(crossing the red sea+maybe another poem?)
creating my own "feature article" based upon my two texts, I'd rather just do an analysis....
and one text for part 3 (which will be one of those movies you suggested)
pretty hard to do in only two minutes :-/

ouch..sounds kinda late.. :p

You know even sending a textual analysis is useless, cos it depends on your questions set upon physical journeys. My question had dealt with the concept of "It is the journey that matters, not the arrival. "

Hence, if u can supply me the question, I can help you further..
