i have to read it for english next term, is it a good book? Seems very philosophical haha.

I have actually read the book. Takes a bit of getting used to (give yourself a fair bit of time to read it) but I loved it

The writing style can be bland and dry; it's an 'acquired taste'. To me, it was crap at first, but when I thought about the ideas etc, I appreciated it and liked it much more.

Excellent book.

Apparently it's like some transformation/appropriation/adaptation (lol one of them) of the movie Apocolypse Now. Maybe to get you into the book, try watching the film.

What. WRONG.
Heart of Darkness was released in 1902. Apocalypse Now in 1979.

While I haven't read it, I have friends who have been complaining non stop for a few weeks about how they have to read it, so I'm assuming that they don't like it one bit.
