With even the simple stuff, is there any way I can perhaps catch up to the level everyone else is at quickly... it's only a few things I've missed out on that they've gotten, such as quadratics and factorising that I was completely ignorant to.

I changed from a public school to a private school and took up extension maths because I thought I could handle it having been in the highest class and getting the top marks at the public school, but clearly I missed out on alot of things. (My teacher showed me how to use the exponent button on my calculator the other day, which I'd never used).

So ummm, any ideas? I've been thinking about getting tutoring in maths anyway, even though my school runs a one hour session each Monday for "maths help" it doesn't seem to help because there are alot of other people having trouble with just General Mathematics.

Any suggestions? Our textbook for maths isn't terribly clear on how things are solved.
