I want to use a Bliss n Eso song for a related text but im not sure whether i should

Only do a song if you can analyse the musical composition and not just the lyrics.

I'm not a personal fan of using songs as related texts though.

A lot of teachers look down upon it and the older conservative bunch might have an especial bias against hip hop (their loss lol)

The musical aspects of it i.e. What effect the sounds, instruments, notes have on ur interpretation

What if the text is identified as "song lyrics", as distinct from "song"??? Just asking cos i've got some good lyrics for RT and am a bit confused with the "don't do songs" advice.

But it's not a distinct text. The lyrics were not composed independently of the musical composition. It's just one element of a complete text.
