^ I've never had one, there's always been something quirky about each and every one of them.
I'm beginning to think that it's the norm.

I've never had a Science teacher who could be considered 'normal'. That's not a bad thing. They were quirky in their own ways.

My year 8 science teacher was into spearfishing and very, very witty jokes. My year 9 science teacher loves Star Wars and Warhammer 40000, and likes dancing and singing and playing the guitar. My Physics teacher for the HSC was also into those high end witty jokes, and he loves Blade Runner the movie. Even has the book it was based off of.

These aren't bad things by any means, they're just who they are.

my junior science teacher was a bit of a tree hugger

my year 7 one literally slid across the room and looked over our shoulders every 5 seconds along with some really creepy stuff...
year.8 one claimed she could have been a surgeon, yet she taught us that the pulmonary vein is an pulmonary artery and really couldn't teach; also walked *shuffled* will permanent butterfly feet.
year.9 one was obsessed with christmas (counted down from day 1) and had an overly colourful wardrobe :L
year.10 one wanted us all to be aeronautical engineers (at an all girls school) and was a grammar nazi.
year 11 and 12 will surely not be disappointing :D

My year 12 biology teacher looked like David Attenborough, and he'd love to tell us stories about Jurassic Park.

When it came to teach evolution, every lesson = does anybody remember what happened in Jurassic Park? Wouldn't it be cool if that was real?! He was awesome :)

Year 10 advanced science teacher was an rpg lover, and he was the head teacher for the warhammer club (pretty much you did this as a non-sport type of deal). So you'd turn up for class and see some of his warhammer painted figurines on his desk, proudly I might add.

Year 11 teacher - absolute twit. Wrote word for word out of the textbook onto the board, and any questions we had "Read your textbook" :/

Year 7 & 11/12 Physics: Really awesome guy and my favourite teacher. Regularly taught us interesting stuff that's outside the syllabus (He was going to do a whole week on the standard model, but sadly stopped after 2 lessons because 90% of the class didn't understand/care), but he gets really REALLY emotional about things like the environment and the beauty of physics.

Year 8: Ex-cop. Wasn't that weird except for the last ever lesson where she told us her life story and talked about shooting people or something like that.

Year 9: Overly friendly - she'd go out of her way to be nice to you to the extent that it was just weird.

Year 10 (Prelim chem): Had 2 teachers this year. The first one was this really nice old guy that knew his stuff, but avoided talking to you one-on-one whenever possible. Didn't really like the second one, she knew her stuff and was friendly enough - but only with certain people. Regularly made fun of people and also interrogated me before/after every lesson about the girl I was going out with at the time, who was in my class as well.

Year 11 (HSC chem): 2 teachers again. First one was the head teacher, but knew absolutely nothing about science outside of what's in the syllabus. According to my physics teacher, she didn't have a science degree and had "no idea about real science". Constantly reminded us about how we all HAD to get a band 6 and how she'd be angry if we didn't - basically made out that it was the most important thing in the world.
Second one's a really cool guy (currently my mentor) - he recognised the importance of the HSC, but realised there's other things in life as well. Really dark sense of humour which I loved, but most of the class didn't get. A bit weird when you talked to him after class though.

All in all not too weird

I heard the Science Co-ordinator (who apparently recently left) at Patrician Brothers was a bit loopy.

yeah my science teacher was pretty bad but not as bad as this guy who filled in for him once

he would make us copy shit from encyclopedias and then he'd disappear for 10 minutes at a time and come back wiping crumbs out of his beard

fat as

I've had a few CRAZY science teachers-it's truly a common thing I'm sure. But not all of them have been crazy, a few have been comparatively normal heh.

Crazy science teacher antics include:
Almost having a brawl in the staffroom
Insulting staff and students consistently, including publically condemning a class on facebook
Too much information stories about personal lives
Being OCD about bizarre things
Singing songs about everything just randomly
Wandering into other teacher's classes and taking over

Just a few examples, some are just crazy insane, but some just make them awesomely eccentric heh.
