Hi all,

Has anyone been tutoring in Harry's Education Centre? If so, what are your thoughts of it?

Haven't been, but just looking at their website, they got a few state rankings in maths (two got 1st in 3unit, and one got 5th in 4unit), and first in state in physics.

But that could be due to them studying 24/7 rather than their tutoring abilities.

nah, gezz some of u are smart, the difference between 85+ and a state rank is that the state ranker studied every waking minute of everyday

that's really cool man.
i'm talking about how much of their state rank came from studying all day, and how much came from the tutoring they received. i'm trying to help this kid.

It is quite good, especially for people who find it conceptually difficult to understand Maths as he goes through lots of examples. What I don't like about Harry's is that I feel like I'm just copying down solutions. If you are the type of person who just understands really quickly and are lazy to do hw then Dr Du is the place for you as he forces you to do work, if you don't, they are going to shoot you! Harry is just a really kind smilie guy who no one is scared of haha

Well which would you recommend? How far through the syllabus are they in Mathematics Extension?

After being to both, I think they are both great and it depends on your preference and speed of learning

Dr Du: Very ahead of school, they cover the topics 4 times throughout the HSC year - you have to get everything really quickly

Harry: In depth understanding of topic first time you do it, lots of examples and thoroughness - if you like this kind of learning then go to Harry's!!

Sorry, I'm not sure what topics they have covered for yr 11

I hope this helps!!

What's with the Dr. Du bloke? Everyone seems shit scared of him. My tutor challenged him to a maths battle, but he turned it down :(
