Hey all i just was wondering (this is mainly directed at past students)

what you all found to be the hardest and easiest topic in year 12 general maths. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated and i was wondering how things like quadratic equations stack up?

thanks in advance

I always have found financial maths the easiest and therefore annuities were easy and trig is always easy with the bearings and all of that stuff.

I have always found anything to do with solving equations was difficult. I never got my head around them. But finally i did, just before the hsc, which was really good.

Well I did Further Math (and I THINK General in NSW is equivalent). Statistic, although boring I found the easiest. Hardest the algebra/trigonometry/geometry - however, IMO the hardest topics are the most interesting. :D

oh and spherical geometry was pretty queer, but yeah, there was nothing that stood out as giving me in particular hell

I loved trigonometry and spherical geometry, but hated financial mathematics.

u know i think everybody has their strengths and weaknesses so i found algebra, trignometry. my hardest? i think was probbility cos we didnt get taught it cos of SARS in Hong Kong so we had to do it on our own. (I live in HK - born and raised) I actually dislike spherical geometry and measurement but financial maths wasn't too bad - just heaps of different things in that chapter.

i HATED probability, luckily there was hardly any of it in the hsc or the trials....

financial was OK but i always got confused about which bloody formula to use...

algebra and trig were easy coz i'd had heaps of revision on that (i did 2u in yr11)... though i don't think i ever really got bearings :p

Spherical geometry was pretty good, I did tourism as well, so I knew where most things in the world were, so I kinda cheated that way. Hehe.

Suprisingly Algebra was easy, and everything else was hard.
(I found this really frustrating!)
