i found this today when finding a way to stop ads slowing down my internet

its a program called AdMuncher and it works with Mozilla (requires ad on), Opera, IE8 and Chrome

the program is developed by Tucows and it is shareware (register if you feel like it)

i use adblock plus too.
allows me to block individual obnoxious images.
and NoScript for firefox.

Ads are good though. They help websites earn money which keep them running

Except when they open pop-unders and pop-ups to try and get your attention that's why they get annoying and that's why ad blocking programs and scripts were made to counter them.

Banner ads are ok.
