Great Wall SA220 and V240 utes: review | Review | carsguide.com.au
GWM Chinese made utes arrive in Australia - www.drive.com.au

Chinaland's chinamen gooks brings to australialand white gooks the Great Wall utes.
A decent ute which offeres the most significant feature which is its lower price compared to other utes, around the $20K mark.

THe SA220 model offers
2.2-litre four-cylinder engine
Power output of 78 kW at 4600 revs
and 190 Nm at 2400-2800 revs (RPM?)
five-speed manual gearbox

but the problem with the V240 model is no airbags or ABS braking.

Seriously though what a fucking heap of shit lol. Its not even that much cheaper than competitors. I'd take a D-Max over all else right now. Apart from maybe a TRD hilux

ANCAP -Australian New Car Assessment Program

For what its worth, some testing just complete, a couple more to do, so RESULTS are due online at ANCAP in about 3 weeks from now, a media release will likely be issued sooner at the website.

Stay tuned as they say.

EDIT - 13 September 2009
Both the V220 and V240 have as standard supply a quality European/UN spec hazard-warning triangle each. In the V240, the triangle is located behind the rear seat backrest in its dedicated stowage spot - see the yellow label.

In the V220, its located under the rear seat!
