that is quite possibly the stupidest thing i have read, u claim to be a "caholic" and yet u dont realise that humans do not get angel wings in heaven? wow you must be real proud of your religion, knowing your scripture back to front and everything.

on a sadder note, the world mourns the passing of a kind man, i greive not for the loss of a pope, but for the loss of a man who has done many kind and wonderful things for humanity...i always thought the popemobile was cool

I tend not to respect people who espouse anti-gay, anti-abortion, anti-conraception, anti-womens rights sentiments

How about the man who took on communism without constructing weapons of mass destruction? The man who is responsible for the Iron Curtain being torn down? The man who bridged the gap that had been growing between Christianity and Judaism since the second world war? The man the promoted inter-faith and ecumenical dialogue?

I'll agree and say he was overly conservative on the issues of homosexuality (although he did tell people not to shun homosexual people), contraception (though coming from a standpoint where sex means only one thing, babies, one can understand why he was against such technology), womens issues, and abortion (he had the view that only God has the right to take life). But because he was conservative on such issues, and because you didn't agree with him in such issues does not invalidate the other wonderous things he has done for this world.

Now you're in Heaven, Holy Father, may you rest in peace there.

Edit: Don't you hate it when you leave out entire words?

Well since I didn't know him as personally as you all seem to, I guess I'm out of my depth.

Yeah, he was a good man and may he rest in peace. Yeah, you're outta your depth. I have nothing but respect for the man and if anyone wants to blasphemous, get outta this thread. It is only good men like him that provide any good to this corrupt world....
