you've lost the plot. pop rock bands are commerical cause they're good at what they do, that does not mean they're out to make money, if you actually researched your material, you'd actually know that all bands started off the same.

Once a preorder is put in, that counts as a sale, order to shops, even if they don't sell them all, they all count. Promo's and freebies count for fucks sake.

No no actually not all bands start off the same. a lot are manufactured, not just boy bands either. Plenty of shadowing pasts are there when it comes to pop rock.

Granted some started out the same. But the fact that they changed their music in order to sell more is the shit that gets to me.

we are specifically talking about the bands mentioned... LP, eva... started off the same as those bands you call 'rock'. they aren't in it for the dough, ppl just happened to like their stuff and they made it big.

The beatles were the epitome of pop rock, and commerical rock. They were good at it, but werent ashamed to show that they were in fact in it for the money as well as the music. You do not become musician so that noone can hear you, you go out there and promote yourself, its a highly commercial industry. To say otherwise would be naive or ignorant depending on your disposition.
