Hey guys,

This idea came from the one and only glitter... but I thought why not spread the invite to everyone else on MQ BOS that isn't part of the regular MQ/Healthy/study thread.

Challenge: Give up something that you can't live without (preferably food)
Aim: improve self-restraint, get healthier,

Mine

Challenge: Give up cheesecake, fried anything and chocolate from now until end of exams.

note: it doesn't have to be until exam time, it can be just for a week.

i gave up fast food for a month

now this wk's challenge is soft drinks
Oooh that sounds interesting

I'll give up soft drink as well :) oh and alcahol, at least until after exam time

I don't drink juice either, its just water and milk from now on :)

Juice is sooo sugary and everyone thinks its soo good for you but if you look on the back, its pretty much equivalent to a can of tuna or a glass of chocolate milk, in terms of kilojoules (energy) and sugar carbs

i would personally rather have the milk or the tuna than a glass of juice.

Yay good idea Anne, let's have everyone in on the party! :D

I don't trust myself to give up anything until after exams though :p

But when it does happen, I'm interested in giving up any maccas food and all non-just-squeezed-fruit juice for a week. (I have been diluting my juice, but still...oh and luckily I'm not a huge fan of soft drinks) The week after that I might add chocolate and cake to list of 'banned consumables' ;)

I've always wanted to know how my body will react to me taking away it's many sources of sugar, this is a good way to find out...

I don’t have the willpower to give up anything at the moment. Buuut, during some of june/july/august I gave up chocolate altogether and then had very limited chocolate because of the mq-healthy thread :D . I think I will attempt that again in early January. Otherwise potato chips.

i never drink soft drinks either, except the zero stuff... mainly cuz i had a can of coke when i was 15 and i got sick after it. but yeh when you forget how it tastes, it's not hard to give up.

anywayz.. i give up.................
chocolate! if i could live on just one thing, it would be chocolate. double coated chocolate tim tams *drools*. i did reallywell last week, but really just cuz i was sick and couldn't eat anything. and then last night ............. =| well we have no more tim tams and hopefully my mum won't buy more and it'll be doable (Y).

that's why I'm not even going to try ;)

Traditionally, exam time is the only time where I well and truly 'let myself go' food wise. Breakfasts at 2am? Heavy lunches at 3 hour intervals? Bring it on! :p

I would give up chocolate on most occassions for a week - but this week i seriously cant, the reason behind it cause my friend just got back from the states and bought me back 3.5 kgs of american chocolate.. ohh im in heaven

So i will give up the chocolate for a week once i have consumed my 3.5kgs worth (dont worry people, it shouldnt take me too long) or maybe i should give it up and then eat it after a week, hmmm thats a thought..

i might sleep on it, i have waited for this for two months!

Any thoughts ???

exam season is fast approaching. Unless you have the willpower of steel, don't put it off I say :p

Alternatively if you're only doing exams, put it off for this week, then when exams start dive in :)
