well in my class there are about 12 girls and only 3 guys
lets say the top 3 positions are girls

We have one girl in our class in a class of... Ten or so

Me and my friend do ipt.

So two out of 15.

We are currently in 3rd and 4th place.

Don't know about IPT, but there isn't any girls in the SDD class in our grade. I was going to pick it but it was the same line as Physics.

there are 3 in my class - including myself. one of which is topping the class.

Last year we had 55 girls in IPT, 3 classes. We now have 44 still same amount of classes.

All girls school, btw.

Because apparently you have to be asian to top the class.
(On the other hand none of the girls in our class were asian and neither were they near the top)
Our 'triad' consisted of three asian guys and we were the only students in our IPT class to receive Band 6.

There are 2 girls doing IPT at my school (we only have the one class, and there's only 9 students).
One of them is coming second; I don't know where the other one is placed.

It's strange how very few females take part in IPT at co-educational schools (by comparison to all-girl schools), yet quite a large number (30 to 40+ was mentioned in previous posts) happily take part in it in all-girl schools.

Does anyone have any opinions on this (perspectives of girls would obviously be the most useful)?
If I was to guess, I'd say that girls are driven away simply because of a large male prescence, which, when removed, makes the subject quite attractive.

In any case, any girls that are into IT will find a job very quickly, simply because there's an increasing demand for females in the IT industry (many companies are challenging the inequality in gender distribution by actively seeking female workers).

I was just wondering how many girls out there are doing IPT? I'm the only one in my class but I have beaten all the boys anyway

yo, im 1 of 6 boys in my ipt class, but in yr 10 when we had ist there were almost 6 or 8 girls and like 9 or 10 boys.

it can tend to vary depending on the view of ipt or ist by the school and the students that have previously completed the course...
i hope some girls do ipt, its a pretty good subject...
