For Personal Projects I found out that if you see a problem in your everyday life and try to solve that you will have a greater conviction to finish and put out a high quality project/product

design software for an elevator. make sure it only opens its doors when the lift isnt on any floor, fire spews out the vents and if anyone miraculously manages to get in they get trapped in there listening to crappy elevator music for the rest of their lives.
