just a quick question.. when converting degrees to kilometres..how do u know which method to use, because they both give different answers. ie. do u:
-- multiply by 60 to give the nautical miles, than multiply by 1.852 to give km; or
-- find it via the arc length formula, putting the degrees over 360 than 2xpix6400

well they have to accept either answer but you have to show your working out.. i think in our hsc they said something like given that 1M = 1.852km find [blah] to the nearest km
theres only like one question on it in the hsc and you will have the formula there on your sheet if it doesn't tell you to use the 1.852km thing

haha you serious? this is too easy.. i always feel like theres some sort of trick behind these types of questions :(
