We did McGuigans's and Catherine Vale vineyards in the Hunter as well (focussed on Catherine Vale in the end, an ex-teacher of my school runs it so he gave us heaps of info). :)

We had to go on the department's tourism day...
Why were we paired with the idiots from an insular all-girls school? I don't know....

economic enterprise...um... we did tyrells wine in the hunter vally...good excursion it was!
my class was going to go to the hunter valley for viticulture but we werent allowed..i go to ashfield boys so its pretty far and there was some problem with insurance [??] about how we were going to get there...the assessment task has been postponed and we're still waiting to know wat's happening

Just wondering guys, did ur class do a 1 economic enterprise (1 for the whole class) or did u each do one individually
the whole class did it together because we usually go on an excursion to make it easier to study and understand..my class has only 5 ppl in it including me[not many ppl are fond of the subject, and that includes me]

no the teacher does want to go there..its the skool worried that something might happen, since it would take hours just to drive there..my teacher was the one who suggested that we go to the hunter valley...now we have to go to penrith instead...

I did alpine. It was easy because I'm a ski freak and already knew most of the crap about Thredbo because and Blue Cow (Thredbo is the best to focus on though).

Edit: Tell me if you want the zip file.

Sort of a late reply but im doing viticulture for economic enterprise and we went to Albury and Rutherglen for a week. It was the most awesome excursion ive been on. And doesnt everyoe do the Great Barrier Reef as a fragile ecosystem?
I didnt realise so many ppl were doing viticulture. It gets a bit boring ay. My teacher took us to a small, specialised winery and one of the largest in Australia as a comparison. Did anyone else do that?

Also the urban places topic do we have to know all the factor thingys for cities (suburbanisation, consolidation, gentrification etc) or just one or two of them?

Tasting wine was the best bit. the guys at both wineries gave us a few glasses each. they reckoned it was 'legal' coz we in a different state on an excursion. yeah pull the other one!

My trial is next week and we havnt covered the ecosystem topic yet so if anyone has any good sites or references that could help me out then pleassssseeeee gimee gimee gimee! Apparenlty the topic will be in our trial but we have spent only a few weeks on it!! grrrr

well, if you haven't covered the entire topic then don't expect a full question on it.
But as with with everything else, ask your teacher.

economic interprise is the case study just like you did 4 ecosystems at risk ( the topic) and close study of some particular ecosystem.

Tourism is the economic enterprise...the other one is viticulture
if any of you have the macmillan text book you can look at chapter 7 which is tourism and is under People and Economic Activity...
