Re: The UTS 'Secks and Start of Autumn Semester' Thread

"Last day to withdraw from a subject without financial penalty is Friday 30 March (10 PM).
Please finalise your subject enrolments before this date and time"

from utsonline

as long as you drop the subject before then u dont have to pay any fees, but after that you have to pay the hecs debt

as for if its offered in summer- lookup the subject on uts handbook and see what it says...but most subjects are only offered in one semester only from my experience

Agreed, the next quiz may not be so easy however
yeah, but i guess if you study sufficiently enough for it, you should be alright
boo yeah no med sci 1 lab next week :D

hey i wanna drop materials too. its so fucking shit. as ive said to jemsta before haha.
yeh im so angry at like the whole crew that organise that subject, i was gonna complain officially to the registrar about it, but truth be told even if it gets better in terms of being organized i still wont wanna do it. anyways, my question is
a) do they offer it in summer. if i drop it, what will i do instead and all that
b) can u still drop a subject after uve paid ur fees, and get the money back? (i hope) i jst got them paid a few days ago..:S
haha, yeah as mike pointed out beforem you roughly have a week and a bit fo finalise as to withdrawing subjects, so if i was to drop materials, ill drop it immediately, because theres no point in dragging on a subject that you have profound dislike for
i dont think they have materials in summer, but im not profoundly sure whether they offer it in spring
i guess if you dont wanna do materisl at all, your best option would be to take up med sci 2 in spring and do stats in summer school

they wont let you overload
oh and i think since that 33190 maths for modelling is a pre-requisite for stats, i think you might have to postpone stats until sometime next year

if stats has a prereq that you have already dropped i dont like your chances

best speak to ur course coordinator- best bet is to arrange an appointment to chat about ur options grace

Are you doing the applied chemistry (not forensic) course, cuz if so you cant drop materials as I believe it is a core subject

Materials science is a subject that you should get out of the way as soon as possible

i suppose so, but maybe when she does it sometime next year, the lecturers might change :)

for our course, its meant to be an elective, not a core, so it doesnt really matter if it has any prerequisites or not

Thats what we are doin now, med sci 2 instead of materials
We couldn't do that on enrollment day due to the clashes between med sci 1 and physics
