WW1 - Okay, think I got mc but my actual responses probably weren't the best
Germany - Did part a as I completely skipped consolidation so basically argued the Nazi's were effective in combating the problems of the Weimar as they created a unified state unlike Weimar which was Socially, Politically and Economically Polarized and fragmented.
Personality - Did Speer, Part A was good Part B was a slaughtering ... I wrote so much word vomit I actually feel bad for my marker
Conflict - Did Indo and the Tet Offensive and Anti-War Movement, think Tet was okay because I covered it in Trials but didnt really have specifics on Anti-War so that'll probably be my downfall.

Decent paper overall, just wondering how HSC Markers are like for modern? Particulatly Personality ...

I don't think not having dates for certain things is that significant of a thing, some markers may dock you one or two marks, but that would be that absolute max I would've thought.

Yes, I think that's fine, that's exactly what I did! Did you link the reliability to the usefulness?
Yep! Hopefully I'll do well. :D

National Study (Germany): I didn't really enjoy the options. The fact that they linked certain dot points together that I wouldn't have expected :/
I agree with the link thing too - I have no idea how people would have attacked the second question, with racial policy and consolidation. Would be interesting to know what line of argument people took. I did the first one, found it a little scary at first but as I got into it I sort of began to see what had been wrong and how the nazis fixed it. Felt like my writing sounded almost pro-nazi at times, which was alarming and I hope that isn't the vibe my essay gives off lol.

i got d,b,b,c,c i think for multi's. That could be wrong, i may've forgotten the corresponding letter, but here were my answers
1. What is the purpose of Source A (the king george v letter) - i chose d, the one about soldiers doing their duty
2. Who is Source A directed towards - I said B) British empire soldiers
3. Source C (Article and picture about women) What was the Queen suggesting women should do - I said make garments for the war effort, b)?
4. Using source C (The German soldier in car), describe the German attitude towards war - i said that the war would be over rapidly and with ease, c i think?
5. Account for the increase in war-related expenditure, I said preparation for ludendorff increased spending, c i think?

I checked these with a few other top students and I think they're right
Yep I did the same however I stuffed up conflict in the pacific-did not remember any dates

It was pretty good except for the Germany question it threw me off a little. I wasn't sure what to talk about and where to go from there was so much to say and I wasnt sure what I should of said. Just spoke about riechstag fire - thought to be communist -> ignited hitler to use it as an excuse in persuading Hindenburg to introduce enabling act.... led to complete elimination of oppositional powers etc etc Night of long knives etc etc SA Ernest Rohm etc etc Racial subordination etc etc

Germany questions were really top quality - very well written. I did Nazis solving Weimar problems one which I thought was particularly nice. Personality required a little bit more abstract thinking for Speer than I would think it would for someone like Mandela (who actually faced real life challenges). Indochina was well written but nothing spectacular. Fairly standard questions there. WWI I liked the slight shift away from the exact syllabus dot points. None of the mc were hard like last years.

That actually made me LOL because it was essentially what they were asking for.. How the Nazis fixed Germany. I did the same essay but I don't think my response was nearly as sophisticated as yours. It ended up being me just recounting the problems of the Weimar Republic and how they were solved with a random ass link to the Nazis

For the MC? I think it was British troops defending France, The British Empire, British troops defending their homeland and something else. Does that sound right? What did you put as the answer?

I don't remember what options there were! But I think I had Britain in there somewhere!

Wow it appears a lot of people picked the issues encountered by Weimar and the role of the Nazi Party. In retrospect it would've been an easier question but I ended up doing the significance of racial policy in consolidation.

I really enjoyed the Indochina anti-war movements question - lots you could talk about. As for the personality, I was really short on time so hopefully they're generous on marking (doubt it).

Thought the exam was decent, definitely multiple choice was a bit iffy :/ but other than that not too surprising, interesting how they linked up syllabus dot points this year in the national study and conflict. What do you all expect as a raw mark?

it was to a what extent question so I added more things in that consolidated the Nazi Party's power.

How did people approach the Nazi effectiveness in dealing with the problems of Weimar? focus more on weimar problems, or Nazi success?

In all seriousness, what raw mark for modern equates to a B6?
I hear it was around 86 last year, so I'd say somewhere around that for this year. Personally, I think maybe a mark or two lower as the essay questions were a little harder than usual.
