90-100% raw mark... good exam.. found it a whole lot easier then the trial... Jeez that last bit in q10... 35+ lines of working! grr! but still got there in the end!

umm i got 2010...but i got it in febuary i think lol..i got the 2010 part but didnt no how to do month loll so should get atleast one mark there

Yeah I thought, in my opinion, it was an overall good exam. Can't say what I will get as a final mark, but areas in Q.9 and 10 screwed me up. I got so confused between birthdays and actual birthdays...if that makes sense - when you're born that's considered as a birthday right? Anyway, I somehow got the total value of both investors to be the same. Question 10 b) I had NO IDEA how to even approach it.

wouldnt this mean that the first month of the year is between 0 and 1, then feb is between 1 and 2, etc
december would be between 11 and 12

therefore shouldnt the answer be november because 10.8 is between 10 and 11??

that corresponds to november. cause x<=12

expecting ~100/120 - got a few stupid things wrong (simpsons rule -_-. put h/2 instead of h/3)

Didn't think it was too bad, 9 and 10 were a bit tricky though. In reference to the exponential growth, i got roughly 10.5. assuming that 12 was the end of december, as 12.5 would be more than 12 months, 10.5 should be the middle of november not october, with december being between 11.0- 12.0. My two cents anyway.

What thecan is trying to say is that by the time "10 months" has elapsed, October would be finished and November would start. Going "24.8" days in, you would be in the middle of November.

hey did any1 get x=(m*L1)/(L1+L2) for 10b/ii). and if so, did any1 manage to prove it was a minimum? i think i accidently proved it as a maximum lol

That test was the worst test in which I have done so far out of all of my subjects. Thank god there's no more HSC mathematics for me for the rest of my life. Anyway, I did manage (I think) to get the mobile phone exponential question:

I hate that attitude. What the fuck did you think it was going to be? The same type of questions every year to suit your neat litte sense of security in trying to memorise the types of questions they give? This is year 12, grow up - my brother in yr 9 could do the exams if it was the same thing over and over - BOS catches on, they wanted candidates to APPLY their knowledge of mathematics, not rote learn exact questions.

I know I ranted, but I am just sick of this attitude when people complain when they are confronted with the unexpected - such a child's attitude.
