I did because the leaflet was about "Australian Environment Foundation" and the Alex dude was from a "Foundation that deals with environmental issues" (or something along those lines).

Yeah i also based mine on the leaflet, it's almost a waste not to use it.

I don't know about the rest of you, but whenever I get 3 or so of one answer (say, eg. B) in a row, or some sort of pattern - I end up freaking out that 'they'd never do something like that!'

Couple of bitchy MCs, but otherwise a pretty good test. The idea/scenario for the speech was so constrictive... but I was proud of my concluding line;

I originally expected that our awareness of environmental issues would rise, but today, Alex, you sent it soaring into the carbon-polluted stratosphere.

I felt that the multiple choice was fairly easy, compared to the trials and learning what tautology was, but there were a few toughies on the attitude of the guy and the changed city.

I struggled a bit with the short story. Does it ever happen to you guys when you know that you're babbling on in a writing piece but you don't have the will power to change it?

I thought it was relatively easy. I was heaps pressured for the creative writing because i got full marks for it in the trial, but i think i went well, using the watch and involving a maths teacher and abduction lol.

that one multiple choice Q about texts 4 and 5 got me stuck though. where you had to pick two things that were in both texts.

If i was a teacher i would devolp a test where all answers were c, would seriously mess with the students minds

m/c was quite challenging. and also the qs. about the comparison between those two texts was something new.

Found the multiple choice suprisingly easy, the short responses weird and relatively repeatative, the speech a pushover (seriously...are they trying to sus out environmental nuts or something??!?!) and (being an idiot) did my short story last and only wrote a page  Chose the stopwatch, used it in relation to time stopping, as in last seconds on Earth (not sure why but my writing always seems to have a dark, cataclysmic feel...is this a prerequisite for a trip to a psychiatrist??)....seemed to put together a good amount of imagery in the 20 minutes i had, yet didn't finish :mad1: Reckon they will mark me down very much for that??

It was a complete breeze
until I realized I screwed up my whole story:(

I wrote about diving and underwater, cause I thought it was the photos for the saving our earth yade yade yaaa

anyway I had to quickly somehow add time into it in the last 10 minutes whilst hyperventilating

Dumbest thing I ever did!

I found this test relatively easy - a couple of M/C's left me rather ambivalent and pissed me off though. Short answers were easy, as well as the speech. You basically just have to suck up to Alex. I found the concept rather intriguing though; they want you to devise your own speech as well as Alex's.
I chose the key for my story. Just looking at the images sparked a multitude of possible stories I could write.

the multiple choice was harder than i had expected based on previous tests
but other than that i thought it was fair enough... the speech was too easy!
What did you write about? (the speech)

yeah i must admit some students would go cazy like for our history exam there was 100 multiple choice questions and like the day before she told us it is going to be hard. i didnt study at all since history isnt my thing anyway the first 6 of my answers were B so i was like who cares what i get so i guessed all B. i always guess the majority. so i got a hundred and the smartest guy got like 60 cause he was worried why he was getting all Bs. we all lol when we found out

I got discouraged from thinking that it was a pocket watch because everyone told me that it was a stop watch. They could be wrong?

Sure hope they don't mind if it was a stopwatch!
it was definetly a stopwatch. i know coz a pocket watch looks exactly like a clock. a stop watch is much more insicrate with like 5, 10, 15, 20. my story was about a time machine that failed coz he only set it for 5 minutes ftww.

It definitely doesn't matter if it was a stop watch or pocket watch...Just like the pen could be seen as someone writing (verb) or the pen itself (noun)...

i remember this question in regards to the Comic Strip in the multiple choice as clear as day... What did you guys put?

Describe the tiger's attitude towards the boy.
A) Frustrated
B) Insolent
C) Professional
D) Supportive

I put C)... tiger never says anything in the strip until that very last part... so he was just cool about it. Yeh know ??..... Lol

I put D because the tiger is seen pushing the boy up and down hills, hence he is "supportive."
