hi, im just curious about this thing.

well lets

say there are 20 people in the class and you have your top 2 which are x and y.

ats y through out the year with little gap, and we all know that x is 1st and y is 2nd through out the year.

say y beats x in the hsc.

what are the possible outcomes for both x and y.

thanks, also assume all the other individuals go crap like shit.

If Y beats X by enough in the HSC, Y will get a higher FINAL HSC Mark. Although X will ALWAYS get the highest external mark (ie Y's external mark) as their internal mark.

If X comes second 2 Y then they will both get the same mark after both the marks are brought together.

No.

It depends on how large the margin is externally and internally.

Nope cause if both get the 1 2 combination then both get half of each other marks so.

X gets 90 in External
Y gets 96 in External

X gets 1/2 (90 + 96) (external plus first ranked external)
Y gets 1/2 (96 + 90) (external plus second ranked external)

they need to be 1 , 2 combination.

please learn about the process/system before talking.

96 becomes the top internal mark, but 90 does not become the second internal mark as they consider the difference in marks internally in order to compensate for the difference.

if intnerally A comes first with 90 internally and B comes second with 76, and B gets 96 external whilst A gets 90 external, it wouldn't be fair to give B 90 internally despite their 13 mark internal difference.
