So what did everyone think of the exam?

Multiple choice was pretty good, with only 2/3 being difficult.

Short answers were excellent and very easy, although the last 7 marker would have surely confused some people.

The organic geology option was good, although I know I lost at least 1 mark there.

I was surprised there was nothing on the atmosphere and Kyoto/Montreal protocols etc.

So what did everyone else think?

I thoguht it was also fairly long as well, as past papers take me about 2 hours to complete, yet this paper took all of the full 3 hours.

Did we just get slipped a...

So what did you guys think?
Again, following the trend of 2008 exams, it was pretty straight forward. They gave us easy 6/7mark questions.... Extinction of megafauna & Australia's fragile nature? Thanks so much :)

I don't think there were any 'assess' or 'evaluate' questions either, only 'analyse'.

The only thing that i'm dissapointed in is that I got 11 or 12 for the multiple guess >_<.

hmm, my internet must be screwy, I just created a similar thread.

The exam was fairly easy, nothing too hard. I was also surprised that there wasn't anything on global warming/Ozone, although they had Ozone in last years exam (Australian scientist Q and some other).

I agree that it was pretty easy. The tectonics imapcts stuff would have been the hardest and even that was easier than past years.

I got the same except I had
7. A - fairly sure of this.
8. B - wasn't sure on this.
14. C
15. B

10 is defiantly correct.

So going by that I then got at least Q 12, 15 wrong, possible 2 more wrong.

Yeh, my 7 is probably wrong, oh well my guess for Q10 makes up for it :p

EDIT: 8 is C in my opinion as life during the Cambrian period was in the ocean, so I don't think living in cooler environments was an issue.

I think I got 2, 8 and 12 wrong in the multiple choice.

I really liked the rest of the test though. I know that I got the part wrong about when life first appeared, which in turn would have stuffed up my next answer about the isotopes because I said the same age again, but yeah, can't complain. Although I think I did do a few stupid mistakes which is natural for me. :p

There were a lot of things I expected to be in there that weren't, including a lot of the "evaluates" and "assess'" etc.

Good exam. The question with the graph of the BIFs. Did anyone else think it was wrong? I thought hydrospheric oxygen levels and atmospheric oxygen levels were around the wrong way...

Wonderful. :uhhuh:

I just hate that e & e is scaled so low.
not really, if you get a good mark, say high band 5/band 6, you get what you g it doesn't scale down. but, if you get lower than that, it would scale down i guess.

i thought that at first, but banded iron formations are made in the water, therefore the oxygen in the oceans would be used up in that, so oxygen would accumulate in the atmosphere first?
that was my reasoning in my head anyway, not sure how right it is.haha.
