Hi guys, I'm taking a Gap year this year, and I'd appreciate input and ideas for places to go. I'm planning a 3-5 weeks long trip.

Where did you guys go, for how long, and approximate cost would be great help.

Should I go overseas? or road trip around OZ.

Definently put Bali on the map, its great for realxing and having fun, also its cheap

Bali? Blergh.

If you can pull a few mates together do a road trip up/down the coast, then hook back home doing a big arc inland to somewheres dardy, take lots of drugs with you and camp in ditches/under bridges/in caves/along rivers and you will live foreva.

Alternatively, go to NZ/east asia/east europe/boring clichéd normal europe or where ever you can get cheap flights and couchsurfing.org your way to immersive and enlightening brilliance.

Either option could easily be done with a few grand up your sleeve and an appreciation for thrift/theft
