i never said there wasn't drinking
i was only 16 at the time (which is legal age for drinking over there)
we would be out to dinner and u get free shots at the end
and they have some nice stuff too...
they love there alcohol...

I don't really know ... i did a tourism assignment for it and i had to research the country and it seemed like such an interesting country to visit.

Plus, who could resist oktoberber fest in munich? I would love to go to that. And travelling on autobahns sounds like fun.

Its just a country which has something special about it ... i don't know what it is ... but i'm sure that its different that what i imagine it to be.

I agree completely. Been there a bunch of times and am looking forward to heading off there again come 2006. If you're hanging around for Oktoberfest, I highly reccommend you stay afterwards to see the Christmas markets - absolutely beautiful and very cosy and European like people picture them. Then go skiing!

And if you miss Oktoberfest... well, just hanging around the pubs (esp. in big cities) can be very fun. You meet a lot of 'characters'. Heh.

My aunt just came back from new Caledonia, and if you're expecting lovely beaches, lots to do on the rest of the island and lush tropical vegetation... you're off to the wrong place. The beaches are nice and great for watersports, but inland it's all dirt roads, red soil and scrub.
