There are obviously numerous consequences to not telling the truth, but i believe much of it reflects on the individuals perceptions.
For Example, Someone who tells a lie, may have severe fellings of guilt, or some may not give it a second thought.
An obvious consequence of not telling the truth is obviously, that the truth is sacrificed and we are subjected to more corportate bullshit, that we are expected to believe. We are being moulded into slaves, by the media so the government can more easily control us.
People have become obsessed by money, and in the wolrd of Frontlines, Ratings mean money, and so to use a quote "Truth has become a casualty of the ratings war." Much like in reality.
It comes down to the individual and what they choose to believe and weather or not they think that the truth is being sacrified, and if so, should there be consequences for it.

hmm at the same time.... its kinda getting late and i think i may be rambling... OHHH WELL. hope i made SOME ounce of sense
