To anyone who is planning to do, or is currently doing some sort of science course at any Uni hoping to transfer into Med later on. What do you plan to do if the unfortunate happens and you don't get offered the transfer into the course you want.

Sorry to sound so cynical here, but it's a pathway I've been half half considering myself, and I wanted to know what other sort of options are made available in say B Medical Science or B Adv Science?

Thanks for your time :)

There was a time where I was dying to do medicine, and well, there was no 'back up plan.' I thought undergrad could be a B.A/ B.Sci and then MBBS for post grad (and later training for psychiatry)
However, the more I thought about it, the more I realised how unrealistic it was for me. Even if I did get into MBBS, I'd feel trapped into it. Plus, to become a psychiatrist or any specialist, that would take 10 + years. So my new plan or ideas for the future are law (family law in particular, that sh*t's so sad) or psychologist.

For B.Sci (Ad) and B. Med Science, you can do further Hons, Masters and Ph.Ds and contribute to the research and development of a particular field. There is also numerous technology- science fields (I do not know much about them, but i do think they are quite engineering based). You could also go into drug development and research, forensics (one of my cousins did that at UTS, went up to phd level). Plus other post-grad options such as Dentistry.
