I'd say 84-87. Maths and especially are dragging your friend down big time. If he improves english to the top 25 and maths to the top 15, I'd say 90 is possible.

Firstly note that these are estimates... I don't go around with a measuring stick and measure everything to the same standard - and so keep a record of what I've estimated in the past and keep adding to that. Really, ATAR estimating is an art - it's a guess.

Looking back, I think it's probably the IPT rank that tips it higher. For an ATAR estimator like me, that 1st placing always will boost the estimate a few points.

But it's an estimate, of course.

This. Whenever anyone asks for an estimate they must keep in mind that it is not an exact science. The people who estimate ATARs can only give you a general idea of what you might get. This is especially the case when students give an ATAR goal and ask what ranks they need to achieve it.
