Exactly wot do we have to know about flip flops for the HSC , except that it is a bistable memory storage circuit

Well, the only point in the syllabus is :

+ "Explain how a flip flop can be used in the storage and shifting of a bit in memory."

Does your book (this question is for SamD) answer the part about "shifting of a bit in memory" ?

I had a quick look at your book because I couldn't find it in the Heinemann book and I think that neither book has this part, correct me if I'm wrong.

Flip flops are described indetail on pages 364-367. Shift registers, which are a combination of flip-flops, are discussed on pages 368-370.

Its difficult to know the detail required, hoewever if you understand everything on these pages of my text then I think you've got it covered pretty well. The opposition's texts, to my way of thinking, really have quite trivial treatments of flip-flops.
