Is it possible to transfer after the first semester or do you have to wait the full year???

if you transfer after 1st semester, they only take your UAI
if wait till the end of the year, then they take into account factors such as UAI, tertiary results, work experience, personal statements etc

Are the uai cut-offs the same mid year? Im only 3 points off the course I want

I've looked at another post you made and I can confirm that the course you just missed out on does not accept mid-year admissions, only after one full year. You may consider Insearch at UTS?

Not all universities or courses have mid-year transfers.
