The fact that he was distributing those movies makes that rather funny haha.

Aah well. Fortunately Bittorrent is pretty much the same as p2p. As long as you're not supplying anything, you're safe :)

There's no point trying to shut down P2P software. It would be like trying to shut down the whole of the internet.

There's too many users and too many variations.
Like when Napster got shutdown, people just moved elsewhere.

Yes, but the RIAA and similar wanker organisations can try scare tactics.. But users will, with all certainty, one day return to a P2P app no matter what.

What has happened is this: Before p2p... People just didn't buy all the music that they liked.. Sure, they bought their favourite CD or casette or what ever. Now that we have P2P, people download the songs they like.. The artists don't lose a cent, as people still buy music.. The RIAA is just greedy, and they don't like the idea of people getting it for free.

If someone downloads music and then pirates it and sells it to people.. Fine.. They can take action, but they should ease off attacking P2P, because they are fighting an uphill battle and are just being a pain in the arse.

i think artists do lose out , when people download. But if u can get sometihng for free instead of paying, why pay. thats my theory

where do we go for music that can't be bought eg old, niche or non-australian???

try finding a Perrey & Kingsley CD
or even a Wendy Carlos, and she is still alive and producing
Kraftwerk's earlier years - they don't exist anymore so

there is another bonus about P2P
