Well it seems that this forum is a bit quiet - and has been since early November, so I thought I'd come and make a post.

GUTEN TAG!!

I've just finished my HSC - good old German was my last paper, but if there is anyone out there doing German, I love grammar (yes, I know it sounds sad!) so if you have any questions grammar- or otherwise-related, post here or pm me and I'll see what I can remember!

Question to the grammar girl...

Ok, I was just wondering how you would put out the sentence "I have finished my homework." would it be:

"Ich habe meine Hausaufgabe abgeschlossen"

or is it put differently, or do you break up the word abgeschlossen?
Would very much appreciate your help!

:)

I would tend to use "fertig machen", however, the way you have structured the sentence is indeed correct. With seperable verbs, the "ge" bit goes inbetween the prefix and suffix

German is one of the easier languages at which you can become proficient - once you know all the grammar, the only challenge is the vocab and even that is not too difficult a task - you'd be amazed at the number of words based on/borrowed from English! I love it!
