Film Studies at USYD (1 Viewer)

So... I was thinking of doing Film Studies but am a little caught up between usyd and unsw. Is the film studies any good at usyd and is there any opportunity for film-making and practical experience?

Hey, from what I understand, the film studies subjects USYD don't give you the opportunity to do any actual film-making. They're focused more on film analysis and theory. Having said that, I've heard great things about the department and all my friends who take film studies seem to enjoy the courses.

I asked the head dude of film studies the same thing. its definitely not film school, it's more of a passage into film criticism (which is why I want to do it) and perhaps screenwriting.
