Question: Outline TWO features of the aether model for the transmission of light. (2 marks, 2003 HSC)

The marking notes by BOS (now BOSTES) said that "most candidates did not correctly give two features of the aether model and instead gave two properties of aether".

I'm confused what's the difference between 'features of aether model' and 'properties of aether'. Could someone clarify this for me?

I think a property is something that the aether HAS, and a feature is like functions of the aether model
For example, properties include:
Low density
Transparent
High elasticity

and features include:
Filled all of space
Permeated all matter
Stationary/absolute frame of reference

And unfortunately, it seems that most textbooks/notes do not distinguish between the two

Would we be able to use absolute frame of reference, as it specifies 'for the transmission of light'?

Do I tutor you? As that is nearly EXACTLY what I say, lol.

Feature is something which the aether DOES
Property is something which the aether HAS

Textbooks SUCK at distinguishing these

I think everyone missed the key word ... MODEL.
The issue is that you are supposed to discuss the model, not specifically the ether.
(And do they honestly still spell it 'aether' in the syllabus?)
