Maybe because the berry-ish taste reminds you of cough medicine..
V doesn't have that taste.
Red Eye Platnium isnt bad either..

V, om nom. OK doesn't taste that great if its not cold, but it beats Mother. That is some rancid shiet. I can recall trying black V once and it wasn't too bad but I do like the original much bettar. I've tried Red Bull but I can't remember for the life of me what it tasted like, beyond just a bit mediciney.

Back in the day (k, year 6, so strain your noggins) there was one called Ikon. And there was red and there was blue. I used to drink the red one. That was pretty awesome. Then I moved from where I was living and never saw the stuff on shelves again
