bloody kids.
Full Metal Jacket owns.
With The Deer Hunter and Apocalypse Now trailing behind.
Breaker Morant is also very worthy of a mention.

For me, Black Hawk Down and Saving Private Ryan are the best out

Saving Private Ryan is my all time favourite war movie. I've only seen it a few hundred times :)

When you started with Schindler's List i thought you were on to something good. :(

Hotel Rwanda is also a bloody good film.
I second Hotel Rwanda.

Hahaha, yeah... I'm a bit of a wacko when it comes to movies I like. And generally I like them because of the cinematography aspect (90 percent of the reason Schindler's list is my favourite... the girl with the coloured dress... AMAZING)

1).Saving Private Ryan- Beautiful film and powerful music. I love the opening scene where old Ryan is at the Normandy American Cemetery at Omaha beach and the P-51s flying over the town of Ramelle at the end. It was just a shame they didn't correct their historical mistakes, though. I mean a Flak 20mm anti-aircraft gun used in a mobile role in MOUT? Yeah, you wish, Steven Spielberg.

2). Black Hawk Down- very realistic.

3). Platoon- very realistic and powerful storyline and message. A powerful tribute to those who served in Vietnam.

4). Un long dimanche de finacailles- the best war-romance film and French film ever. Very realistic combat and touching plot, the only shame are the unnecessary sex scenes that Jodie Foster is in.

Worst War Film

1). Passchendaele- I was looking forward to this Canadian film due to its promising trailer but it turned out to be a love story with a terrible male supporting actor and crap plot that hardly mentioned anything about the battle.

Those are my two cents.
