Facebook in the car? (1 Viewer)

The other day I was driving and I noticed my satnav software had been automatically updated... to include Facebook?



Whilst I appreciate the benefits of being able to post status updates from the car, share my location, find friends near me, and also automatically know where I'm going thanks to FB events and Google Maps, but is this a distraction too far?

(On another note, it's incredibly slow to use so I doubt I would ever use it other than for the novelty- typing using a knob or a numerical phone keypad is extremely slow compared to an iPhone)

But give it time and this sort of thing will become more mainstream and more common. After all, it's only a software feature.

Hmm...maybe its skimmed under aus regs and legislation? Lets hope a future patch restricts access so its only useable when the cars engine is off.

Most features only work when the car isn't moving

I also discovered it has Google Street View integrated into it now. Damn technology has become integrated.

Yeah you can sync with facebook on my tomtom app on my iphone, but I never check in on facebook anyways.

Pity it gives very vague location details- I wanted it to post that I was stuck in traffic and it shared my location as "Near Sydney". How useful.
