Can the externals change everything ? for eg if im coming 2nd, bt I end up coming 1st externally, will I end up beating the internal 1st overall ?
Is it possible to push your atar from say a 94 to a 97 ?

What you asked doesn't make sense to me.

But I'll give you an irl example:

In the HSC for chemistry I came =4/10 but in my exam I got 91.

One of the students coming first got 85 (the other got like 83/84, and someone else in the class got 86).

But since there was equal first the top assessment mark was so his mark was . So I ended up the same as him/seeing slightly better than him since my internal was 83 so I got .

So you can go from the middle of the pack to the top in some cases. (I was equal 4 out of 10 with two others so technically I was in 4th-6th place out of 10).

If you got say, 99 in the externals where the top is usually around 95, you'll end up appearing as though you slightly dragged up the whole cohort but stretching it upwards.
